Since 2015, Design Matters has been sharing stories about new movements in design, giving inspiration to designers from all over the world, growing each year and reaching 1000 participants pre-Covid in 2019, and again in 2022. Design Matters landed for the first time in Tokyo in 2020, in Mexico City in 2023 and will land in Lagos in November 2023 for the first time. OUR MISSION
We, at Design Matters, are designers and activists. This is why, every year, we bring on stage the most brilliant and skilled design practitioners to talk with honesty and passion about their experiences, challenges, successes, and failures. Our mission is to spark up the conversation about the work and the role of digital designers – now and in the future - and to build a global, diverse, and inclusive community where people connect and empower each other.

THE CONFERENCE
All the talks revolve around defined topics that change every year. The workshops let you dig deeper into a specific technique, process, or skill that you can take home and put into practice right away. You will also find networking and crafty activities, and evening performances to allow yourself to unwind and socialise with other fellow designers.
Design Matters isn’t just a conference, though. It is also an opportunity to take part in exciting activities around Copenhagen on the days before and after the event – such as museum tours, design studio visits, and meet-ups. On the day before the conference is a special meet-up open to both participants and speakers, where you can make new friends before the conference starts.
